Tell TSA: Transgender Persons Aren't "Dangerous!"

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) mistreated a transgender woman and made her miss her flight because their full-body scanners picked up an "anomaly" -- her penis.

After viewing the "anomaly" on their scanners, TSA officers pulled her aside and subjected her to a humiliating full-body search and invasive questions about her anatomy, including whether she had implants. They also told her they'd need to get male screeners because of her anatomy, regardless of her status as a transgender female. Her government-issued ID proved her gender, and she had every right to be treated as the female she is.

The TSA needs to revisit their policies and train their staff to treat transgender persons with dignity, not as "anamolies." Please sign the petition to urge the TSA to improve their treatment of transgender persons!

We, the undersigned, are concerned with the recent treatment of a transgender woman at an Orlando airport. We understand that TSA caused her to miss her flight because their full-body scanners picked up an "anomaly" -- her penis.

We respectfully urge you to revisit your policies and train your staff to treat transgender persons with dignity, not as "anamolies." Thank you for taking the time to read and consider our petition.
